The Thing With The Stuff

During DigiPen I worked with Joshua Billeaudeau on a lot of music. Some took a long time to produce and other were improvised jam sessions. Many of them are performed by Josh and I only did production work. Josh has several other tracks he did at DigiPen but I wasn't really involved. There's also quite a few song we wrote together that have yet to be recorded.

"Hip-Hop Lords of Arabia," is a name we considered for our band. Unfortunately we were always to busy with school to work on any professional music. I'm not quite sure how to label these songs, but they don't feel like HHLOA. So for now I'm putting it under the name, "The Thing With The Stuff: Of Power," which is a band/album name we had also considered.

The Thing With The Stuff: Of Power (45MB)

Blobby The Blob - Cosmic Credits - Josh's first semester game, Blobby The Blob, used this as a credits song. The game also had an in-game banjo soundtrack, but those songs have been lost.

Erhardt's Lament - Created for professor Erhardt, the head of our game department. It was used in a practical joke because he hates calliope music.

Invasion Squad - Our first year text-based game, Invasion Squad, was originally going to use this in the title screen.

Silver & Jade - The music club spent an hour writing and recording a pirate shantee for Kevin Prior's pirate game.

GunFu - Jam - Josh and I were jamming to find a theme for our second year game, Gun-Fu: Disco of Crime.

GunFu - Chase - Another jam that would have made a great song for a chase scene.

Martian Seduction - The music club had a music competition where we were to take CD of random samples and remix a song from them. This was my entry.

Desert Derby - How Cool The Fire - I wanted to do an African themed soundtrack for my third year game, Desert Derby. I made this song using a lot of samples from an African Children's Choir concert I attended.

Desert Derby - King Trilo And Junga Frost - Another song in same vein as How Cool The Fire.

Desert Derby - Overcast - Used in the credits of the game. It's a collection of unused songs the Josh and I wrote for Desert Derby. It also has contains a remix of The 1812 Overture.

The Cow Song - Josh made this after I showed him the vinyl simulating scratch software I use.

Speed Trip - A concept for the soundtrack to Speed Trip.

Grandiosity - A Jason Webley inspired song that Josh and I wrote. The lyrics are from a poem by SEB.

Rumble Box - Gumption In A Box - The team behind Rumble Box wanted us to do a swing song for their game. This is the result of a single 12 hour music session.

Bounce Bounce Fun - Showdown - A song used in Kevin Prior's Bounce Bounce Fun. Kirk Barnett did the whistling.

Nightmare World - An attempt at a song for Narbacular Drop, but it didn't quite fit.
